Sherry Van Dorn

SHERRY L. VAN DORN, age 67, went home to be with her Lord on May 21, 2013. A memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 15315 W 151st St. Olathe, KS on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 12:00pm with visitation an hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Olathe, KS.

Sherry was born June 21, 1945 in Joplin, MO to John and Maxine Truman. She was a graduate of Raytown High School in 1963 and enjoyed a career as an Executive Assistant at H & R Block. Most important to Sherry, was spending time with her family and being "Grammy" to her six grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Kara (Colby) Newbanks, sister Sandy McConnell, brother Rick Truman, and grandchildren Celso Henrique, Bryant, Henry, Lincoln, Morgan, and Oliver. Preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Gary and Don Truman.
