Sheri Potthoff
June 29, 1967 — December 11, 2018
Sheri Rene Potthoff, 51, passed away on December 11th, 2018 at her home, following a courageous and resilient battle with metastatic breast cancer. Sheri was born June 29, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri to Gerald and Mary Conwell. She is remembered as being a happy child with the sweetest giggle.
Sheri graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1985. She played basketball and could often be found driving around in her black Mustang convertible.
On November 20, 1999 she married her husband Nick and they built their lives with their 3 children in Overland Park. Sheri was a well-loved employee at FedEx, known there for her famous chocolate chip cookies and radiant smile.
Most of her free time was spent involved with her kid's school and activities. Sheri was known for her crafty contributions to the classrooms and school events. Her handmade gifts and blankets have been treasured by many. Her love of crafting and baking originated with some of her favorite times being spent with her grandma Blair in Emporia. Sheri was well loved by her boy's SMS basketball team and was a familiar face at every game. In the summers, she could often be found in the sun, either at the pool or at the lake with family. She enjoyed playing cards with family, often losing to her daughter Nicole, cheering on her favorite red-head Jake, and joking with her favorite long-necked son Blake.
She loved snowmen, Dr Pepper, Precious Moments, her grandma's cinnamon rolls, falling asleep during Hallmark movies, chips and salsa, cucumbers and tomatoes, and she took her pizza with a sprinkle (or two) of salt.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Gerald "Jerry" Conwell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Nick Potthoff, daughter Nicole Richardson, sons Jake and Blake Potthoff; her mother Mary Conwell; siblings Susan (David) Renzulli, Sandy Randall, Brad (Denise) Conwell, Shelly (Mark) Guenther, Joel (Carrie) Conwell, and Dustin (Wendy) Conwell, brother and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends.
She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Her life was a blessing and she left our hearts full of cherished memories.
A memorial service will be held Friday December 21st, 6pm at Hillcrest Covenant Church 8801 Nall Ave. in Prairie Village.
