Sharon Sue Combs of Shawnee passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the age of 65. She was born in Olathe, December 11, 1942, to the home of Harvey and Catherine (McNown) Kemper. A lifelong resident of the Johnson County area, she had enjoyed various careers throughout her lifetime that all put her in direct contact with both new and familiar faces daily. She was always one trying to go out of her way to be friends with everybody she met. In her spare time, simple pleasures like gardening and fishing kept her entertained. She is survived by her current husband, Jim Combs; a caring step-daughter, Cheryl; her sister Lillian Hunt; Three children from her marriage to Charles "Buddy" Pettyjohn; Kent and Kelly Pettyjohn, and grandchildren, Kyle, Kendra and Ryan; Keith and Christina Pettyjohn, and grandchildren Tosha and Tessa; Kimberly Pettyjohn, grandson Brock James and great-granddaughter Ava; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and a very special friend, Janine Linnell. Following the memorial service, a gathering open for all family and friends will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Jake's Place, 12001 Johnson Drive in Shawnee.
