Shane Michael Greer, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was born on January 1, 1958 to John Galen Greer and Mary Margaret Greer in Tribune, Kansas.
Shane grew up in Selkirk with five brothers and two sisters. Shane graduated from Wichita County High school in 1976. He then graduated from Baker University in 1981 where he played football for the Wildcats. Shane worked at Sysco and Cardinal Health for the past thirty plus years. Shane married Vicki in 2007. Shane has opened up his home to many foster children for the past twelve years. Shane loved his wife, kids, and grandkids with all his heart. He enjoyed going to high school football games, watching Chiefs and Pitt State football, science fiction movies and books, he loved having BBQs and pool time with family and friends, playing dominoes and poker while sipping on Crown Royal.
Shane is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Greer; his former wife Theresa Greer; children, Joshua Hefley, Colby Greer, Travis Earl Greer, Katie Akerman, TannaLynn Baldwin, Travis Shane Goin, Brittney Brown, TanishaLee Moore, Arianna Greer; grandchildren, Michael Hefley, Bailey Hefley, Michael Akerman, Isabella Ackerman, Tobias Akerman, AustenRyle Moore, RaeLynn Moore, Elliejude Moore, PaytonLynn Baldwin, SopiaMay Montejano, Logan Montejano, Lyric Brown, and Landon Brown; brothers, John Greer, Greg Greer, Montgomery Greer, Robert Greer, Jim Greer; sister, Christine Greer, and many nieces and nephews.
Shane is preceded in death by his Father John Galen Greer, Mother Mary Margaret Greer, and Sister Mary Powers.
The viewing will be from 1:00-2:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Penwell Gabel Funeral home, 14275 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062 followed by a church service at 3:00pm at Olathe New Life Community Church of SDA, 18475 W 159th St, Olathe, KS.
