Scott Allen Parrish, 42, of Woodstock, Illinois passed away on January 20, 2016. He was born on November 8, 1973 to Michael and Peggy Parrish in Emporia, KS.
Scott grew up in Olathe, KS and graduated from Olathe North High School in 1992. After graduation, Scott went to ESU on a football scholarship. Finding college was not for him he went on to a career in the Construction field working for several companies as he chased his dreams. The latest chapter in his life had led him to the greater Chicago area where worked for Plote Construction as a quality control coordinator.
Scott is survived by his loving parents and brother, Jimmy, all of Olathe. His grandmother Betty Parrish of Walnut Grove, Missouri. Aunts and uncles Myrl P and Vicky Lyon of Emporia, Anita and Dan Ramsey of Madison, Michael C Lyon of Hawaii and Steve Parrish of Walnut Grove, along with many cousins. Scott also leaves behind several close friends. One of these in particular the family wishes to recognize is Andrew Miller. You were like a brother from another mother to Scott and your help in these difficult days will be forever appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents WG and Betty Lyon, his paternal grandfather Ralph Leon Parrish and Cousin Kirk Lyon.
The family will receive guests for a visitation on Friday, January 29, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, KS followed by cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family will set up a memorial in Scott's name through the Olathe School District dedicated to the music departments.
