Scott Heath Moehlman

June 16, 1972 — August 9, 2024

Scott Heath Moehlman, 52, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on August 9, 2024 at Olathe Hospice House.

He was born on June 16, 1972 to Lewis and Cathy (Silverman) Moehlman of St Louis, MO.

Scott grew up in St. Louis and although he spent most of his adult life living in California, Texas and eventually Kansas, he never stopped being a fan of the Cards. Baseball was a passion of Scott’s from the time he was a young boy and on through high school. He attended the University of Missouri and would eventually find his niche in talent acquisitions/executive recruiting, where he impacted many lives through the mentoring of young recruiters. Outside of work, Scott was blessed to be the father of two incredible young men, Jake (17) and Kyle (21) and cherished the time with them as budding athletes.

On October 22, 2021, he married Tonya Nicole Ragan (Morton), and they made their home in Olathe, Kansas. Scott’s main focus in life was to be the best father to all four boys and husband he could be. He loved his boys more than anything, traveling to Texas every 4-6 weeks to sometimes spend only one day with them. Even when his health was impacted, he made the trip to spend that precious time with Jake and Kyle. His love for them was apparent to anyone who spent a few moments talking with him. He was also very committed to build and grow in relationship with Wyatt (15) and Quaid (14) as his bonus son's, teaching them all things football and wanting to learn about the things they enjoyed doing.

He and Tonya were members of Charis Kingdom Church in Shawnee, Kansas where they built a community with others who are on a similar journey of knowing God. Scott was a seeker of truth and felt he found truth when he found Jesus. Outside of his faith and family, he enjoyed football (Go RAMS), baseball (St. Louis Cardinals baby), 80's and 90's R&B, going to South Padre with his boys and being on a kayak in the hot sun. He worked hard to stay healthy and was often complemented on how good he looked for his age; even though that kind of attention was embarrassing. He was committed to growth in every way, always striving to be better than the day before, this kind of drive never changed even during his 17-month battle with brain cancer.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Tonya, his sons Kyle and Jake Moehlman, bonus sons Wyatt and Quaid Ragan, his mother, Cathy Silverman, his brother Randy Moehlman and sister in law Karen Moehlman (Albrecht), their three children, Abigail, Bridget and Daniel Moehlman, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and friends scattered across the country.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Roger Moehlman.

The family welcomes floral tributes, and memorials suggested to Be Headstrong Kansas City, the University of Kansas Cancer Center, or to Olathe Hospice House.
