Scott Messer

Scott Andrew Messer, 39, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Mayes County Hospital in Pryor, Oklahoma. Scott was born to Donald L and Barbara J (Andrews) Messer on March, 13, 1976 in Blantyre, Malawi. He graduated from Bradley University in 1998 and received his MBA degree from Kansas University in 2011. Scott worked for Black & Veatch from 1999 until the present. His work took him to projects in Ohio, California, Perth, Australia, Calgary, Canada and recently to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

Scott's love for soccer was only surpassed by his love for his family and the Lord. His warm smile and gentle spirit embodies the country he was born in. The country of Malawi is known as the warm heart of Africa. Scott's parents were missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene in Zambia, Malawi, Kenya and South Africa. He was a member of Shawnee Church of the Nazarene. He had a generous heart that contributed to missions all over the world. He has gone on to Heaven to be with his Savior.

Scott is survived by his mother, Barbara Messer of Spring Hill, KS; one sister, Kathy Messer of Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L Messer and his sister, Kristina Dawn Messer.

Funeral service will be at 1:00p.m. , Tuesday April 7 at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene at 5539 Quivira Road, Shawnee, KS. Viewing will be from 11-1 before the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Jesus Film/Harvest Partners or Doctors Without Borders.
