Sandra Joanne Syverson, 78, of Olathe, passed away on November 5, 2019 at her daughter's home in Overland Park.
She was born on November 7, 1940 to Clarence and Martha (Dean) Stude in Brewster, MN.
Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She spent the majority of her career at Federated Rural Electric Insurance in Lenexa, KS as an administrative assistant.
On April 2, 1960, she married Roger John Syverson in Brewster, MN. Sandy and Roger lived in many places, following Roger's career opportunities. These include Willmar, MN; Sioux Falls, SD; Brookings, SD; Bozeman, MT; Burke, VA; Wichita, KS; El Paso, TX; and Olathe, KS.
She was a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, KS and enjoyed serving others. Sandy never spoke of her deeds or sought recognition. It's only just since her passing her family began to learn of her many selfless acts of Christian love.
Sandy is survived by her daughters, Kristin (Chuck) Jazdzweski, Renee (Mike) Eby; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Tara), Joseph (Lauren) & Rebekah Jazdzewski (fiancée Arpan Shah), Mary (Luke) Whitlow, Bonnie and David Eby; her great-grandchildren Seyda, Ari, Haelan, Elijah Jazdzewski and Branlin Whitlow; and her siblings Ron, Steve and Wanda.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994, mother Martha in 2001 and father Clarence in 2005.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Garrett Chapel in College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe, KS. A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm.
Another service will be held at Benson's Funeral Home, Worthington, MN on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Visitation will be from 1-2PM with service to follow at 2PM. Burial will take place at Hersey Cemetery in Brewster, MN.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army Outpost at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe.
