Sandra Lane Thomas, 65, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at her home and made her entrance to glory on Tuesday May 19, 2015. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was a friend to many and never afraid to share a picture of her grandkids or send an encouraging card those who needed a cheerful thought.
She was born on May 7, 1950 in Murphysboro, IL to Samuel and Helen (Lane) White. She attended and graduated from Olathe High School. She worked for Comprehensive Mental Health for 24 years as an office manager. She was very active in her church over the years teaching Sunday school, working in the nursery, and volunteering in many activities. She was currently attending Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe. Her pride in this life was her husband, children, and most of all her seven grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, photographs, collecting dolls and Snow Village houses.
She was preceded in death by her Larry: Larry P. Thomas, her parents Samuel and Helen White. Survivors include her children: Dawn Atwell and her husband Sam of Olathe, Kansas and Michael L. Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Olathe, Kansas. She will be remembered and cherished by her grandchildren: Samantha, Amber, Kyle, Jager, Emily, Noah and Aubrie. Rest in Peace Grandma (MeMaw).
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Penwell-
Gabel Funeral Home 14275 S. Black Bob Rd Olathe, Kansas 66062. Interment in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 Black Bob Olathe, Kansas 66062. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel.
