Memorial services for Sally Sloan, age 66 of Olathe, will be held on Sunday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel-Olathe Chapel, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, in care of the Abdallah Shrine Temple, 5300 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66202.
Sally passed away on Sunday, Mar 8, 2009 at Royal Terrace Care Center. She was born on Feb 23, 1943 in Wilson, North Carolina to William Harrison Forbes and Mary C Corbett Forbes. Sally was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College, receiving her degree in Special Education. She married Charles Sloan on June 5, 1966, and they eventually made their home in the Johnson County area. She was very active along with her husband, Charles, in the Shrine Temple functions.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Hubert Sloan, Jr. of Olathe, and her two sons, William Sloan, of Ocean Park, WA, and Micah Sloan of Shawnee, KS, and her sister-in-law Felicia Williams of Wilson, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Harry Forbes.
