Ruth Ann Oatman, 67, of Olathe, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS.
She was born December 21, 1952, to Marvin and Gene (Seaton) White in Springfield, Missouri. Ruth attended Parkview High School and Penn Valley Community College. She most recently worked for Children's Mercy Hospital and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, friends & her animals. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, & going to live musicals. Her love and passion for animals and children knew no bounds. Ruth held a strong Faith in God and taught her children to know of His love for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandsons, Denver Thompson & Zachary Murphy.
Ruth is survived by her loving fiancé Scott Peeples of Harrisonville, MO; daughters Theresa (Andrew) Jensen of Basehor, Lori (Tom) Murphy of Excelsior Springs, MO, Jennifer Jones of Olathe; son Andrew (Kayla) Oatman of Yates Center; sister Beverly White of Springfield, MO; brother Michael (Jennifer) White of Copperas Cove, TX; and ten grandchildren: Christopher Murphy, Phoenix Bryant, Adriana Jones, Julia Day, Kayla Jones, Jacob Jones, Bailey Jensen, Hannah Sterling, Aubrey Jensen, and Sophia Oatman. She was "Nana" to many more children who knew and loved her.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday August 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Overland Park, KS.
Memorials and donations are suggested to the Villa St. Francis in Olathe.
