Ruth Green

RUTH ARLENE GREEN
Born July 13, 1923 in Luray, KS, passed away August 8, 2006 in Olathe, KS. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66604, or to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211.
Ruth was born to Charles O. Nesbitt and Ora Bell (Ruth). She attended Rouner grade school in the Vincent community in Osborne County, KS. She graduated from Luray High School in 1941, and during WWII she worked in a hardware store in Hill City, KS. On September 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Homer Green and they lived and farmed in the Cheyenne community. They later moved to Wakeeney, KS in 1964, and returned to Luray in 1967. In 1988, they retired in the Olathe area to be near their family.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Howard) Bean of Olathe, her son Lyle (Michelle) Green, of De Soto, KS, grand-daughters Connie Bean, Christie Bean, Kaytlyn and Mackenzie Green, grandson Cpl. Weston Bean, and great-grandson, Brian Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, in 1992, and an infant son, Robert, in 1958.
