RUSSELL FRANK JEFFREYS, age 79, passed away July 13, 2010 in Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kellogg Historical Society, Kellogg, IA, the American Cancer Society, or to Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
He was born January 10, 1931 in Grinnell, Iowa to Cecil R. Jeffreys and Mary C. Frizzell Jeffreys. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years, and was a Flight Instructor and charter pilot with the KCAC. He was a Marshall with Overland Park Golf Course, and ski instructor with Snow Creek in Weston, MO. Russell and his wife, Pat, have been members of Prince of Peace Parish for the past 10 years, and Russell enjoyed participating in the St. Anthony's club.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Pat, his children Terry (Bonnie) C. Jeffreys, Linda (Jeffrey) S. Burrow, Nancy J. Jeffreys, and Cindy (Scott) A. Winkler, step-children Joseph (Stephanie) A. Hau and Jeffrey (Brenda) R. Hau, grandchildren, Eric, Tim, Elliott, Andrew, Marshal, Jack, Christopher, Emma, Alex, and Ben, his sisters Charlene Pickles, Ruthi (Warren) Jafvert, and Sandy (Bob) Hughes, and his brother Floyd (Vivian) Jeffreys, his aunt Ruth Frizzell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Frances Jeffreys, his brother-in-law, John Pickles, and his first wife, Louise.
