Rudy was born March 15, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was known for his athletic prowess while attending Rosedale High School and as a young man prior to serving with the U.S. Army during WWII. Following the war he remained active in sports as a respected coach and referee. He was the consummate salesman and enjoyed much success in sales as reflected in his career with Sears. He was an avid and accomplished golfer and fisherman, the trout at Wyandotte County Lake feared him!
He was quick with a corny joke, and loved to give away the birdhouses which he handcrafted in his basement. He freely shared his knowledge and skills with anyone who could use a hand, and was never happier than when teaching his grandchildren new skills.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Lee Gibson Rauh; son David and his wife Ann, their children Michael and Katie; son Lee and his son Niall; and a sister, Emma Huff. You are loved, Grandpa, and will be sorely missed.
