Ruby Shikles

RUBY KATHERINE SHIKLES, age 92, passed away November 29, 2010 in Olathe, KS. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS followed by funeral services on Thursday, December 2 at 1:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 3333 Wood Avenue, Kansas City, KS. Interment, Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions are suggested to the church or to the Lutheran Women's Mission League.

Ruby was born February 14, 1918 in Cole Camp, MO to Otto and Mabel Bohling. She was married to Elzo Shikles in 1948, and together they raised their family in the Kansas City, KS area.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Rayema Martin and her husband, Al, and her son Ray Shikles, her grandchildren Carrie ( Brandon) Lahey, Albert (Karon) Martin, and Melinda Shikles, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Sylvia Morris, and Laverne Bahrenburg. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Elzo, in 1988.
