Ruby Rosalie Rauschenburg

Ruby Rosalie Rauschenburg, 71, of Shawnee, passed away on December 21, 2016 in Merriam, Ks . She was born on December 24, 1944 to Joseph and Ruby (Gifford) Rauschenburg, in Hamakaupoko, Maui, HI.

Ruby was raised in Maui and later moved to Oahu, where she began work as a nanny. In the early 1970's as she traveled in her job as a nanny she came to Olathe Kansas, where she made many close friends, and decided to make Olathe her permanent home. She continued to work in child care until she began a new career in social work helping both in the mental health area and later with abused women and children.

She retired from social work due to disability in the early 2000's while living in Kansas City, Kansas. She moved to Spring Hill Kansas in 2011 and lived there until 2014 when she returned to Olathe. In 2015 she was forced to give up independent living and moved to Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center where she resided until her death on December 21, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents

Ruby is survived by her many friends whom she considered her family.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2016, 10:30 A.M. at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, with a memorial service following at 11:00 A.M.
