ROY "DOUG" DOUGLAS COLEMAN, age 61, passed away June 26, 2011 in Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29 from 6:00-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 s Blackbob Rd, Olathe with funeral services on Friday, July 1 at 10:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment Denison Cemetery, Denison, KS. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Doug was born December 9, 1949 in Atchison, KS to Roger and Maxine Coleman. He served our country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired after 27 years of service with Ford Motor Company Parts Distribution Center. Doug was also a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS.
He is survived by his children; Kyle Coleman, Abby Schliecher, and Trent Coleman, grandchildren Caleb and Alyssa Coleman, Jonathan, Michael and Matthew Schliecher, his wife of 35 years, Julie Coleman, his brother Don Coleman, sister Jan Abramovitz, and father Roger Coleman. He was preceded in death by his mother Maxine Coleman.
