Rosemarie "Rosie" Lydia Snook, 71, of Olathe, passed away on July 28, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born September 27, 1946 to Paul and Ella Ulasien in Bretten, Germany.
In 1950, Rosie moved to the United States with her family, and she graduated from Turner High School in 1964.
She was employed as a nurse with Shawnee Mission Medical Center for over 40 years.
Rosie was an active member of Indian Creek Community Church and in community bible study.
Surviving are her daughters Georgia Harvey and Heide McDaniel, brother Paul Ulasien, sister Jenny Coy, and grandchildren Stephen Harvey, Nicholas Harvey, Samuel Harvey, Noah Harvey, Ethan McDaniel and Emilia McDaniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Verena Ulasien.
Rosie was a hard worker who raised her two daughters while attending college to become a Registered Nurse. She was a wonderful cook, especially of German food. When her girls were young, she taught herself how to decorate cakes so she could make extra money to take them on vacations.
She was a well seasoned traveler and traveled to many countries all over the world with friends and family.
Rosie also loved to garden, and had a green thumb that never met a plant she couldn't save or find a place for in her house.
But mostly, she was an excellent mother, Oma and friend. Everyone who knew her said she was funny, happy, generous, ""the BEST nurse" and always there whenever anyone needed her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation.
