Ronald E. Kauffman

Ronald Elwood Kauffman, 79, of Olathe, passed away on November 27, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born on March 9, 1942 to Elwood and Helen (McDonald) Kauffman at Fostoria, Ohio.
Ronald worked for General Foods for over 20 years. During his time there he was an auditor and a consultant. He worked closely with the FDA regarding food safety. He participated in a multination conference in China to help establish food safety and preservation standards.
After his retirement he enjoyed a variety of jobs and social interactions with lots of friends. He worked at Hen House on College Boulevard and also at Honey Baked Ham on Black Bob greeting customers because he made everyone feel welcome. Two of his favorite social interaction location were Culver's and Mom's Kitchen in Olathe. He had lots of friends that he met there frequently.
He was a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe. He enjoyed his time as head usher.
On June 9, 1962, he married Marty Flannery and they eventually made their home in Olathe, Kansas.
Ronald is survived by his loving children, Kimberly Kay (Curt) Koerner and Jon Charles Glenn (Machel) Kauffman, and the love of his life, Marty Kauffman.
He has eight grandchildren: Chad (Amanda) Koerner, Kristen (Kyle) Blaylock, Cory (Ashley) Koerner, Josh Marquez, Taylor (Josh Collins) Marquez-Kauffman, Brooke Marquez-Kauffman, Patrick (Leah) Carey, and Jessica Carey.
He also has 15 great-grandchildren, Madison Koerner, Ethan Koerner, Daniel Blaylock, Leonidas Blaylock, Mason Koerner, Pyper Marquez, Bentley Collins, Ryder Collins, Briella Collins, Beau Minardi, Thea Minardi, Bryson Carey, Brizdon Carey, Jayden Noble, and Cameron Cartwright.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Kauffman, his precious great-grandchildren Gary Welch, Jr. and Avery Marquez-Kauffman as well as many other loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the College Church of the Nazarene Benevolence fund, 2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, KS 66062.
The service has been re-scheduled for April 2, 2022 at 11am at College Church of the Nazarene, Garrett Chapel, with visitation offered at 10am.
