RONALD E. HIATT

Age 71, passed away September 4, 2008 in Olathe, KS.

Ron was born March 20, 1937 in Wichita, KS to Marvin D. and Pauline Hiatt. He attended Wichita East High School and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Business Administration. He served our country in the US Army Reserve, and was an excellent marksman with Pershing Rifles while in college. He married Virginia (Jinny) Finley in 1965, and they raised their family in the Kansas City area.

He spent the majority of his career with Kansas City Life, retiring in 1999 as Treasurer of the Company.

In his leisure, he coached baseball for the Olathe Youth Baseball Association, and enjoyed planning trips throughout the country, including hiking, canoeing, and fishing on the Quetico. Ron was able to attend most all of the KSU football home games.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jinny, his children Vicki (John) Jurica of Centennial, CO, and Rusty (Stephanie) Hiatt of Osage Beach, MO, four grandsons Cole, Blue, Jack Jurica and Jackson Hiatt.
The family suggests memorials to a fund established with Johnson County Park and Recreation for walking trails.
