ROLAND A. JEANNERET
Roland Arthur Jeanneret, 86, passed away on July 14th, 2006.
One of Roland's greatest accomplishments was in the field of photography. He began studying color photography in New York in 1941 but was interrupted by World War II. After a year in the infantry, he served three years in the air force doing photographic work. He was the first photographer to use the process of "direct color photography" in this part of the country. He exhibited his work at many places in Kansas City including the Nelson Art Gallery. He was also President of the Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City and had a studio for many years.
The past 15 years he resided at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO where he was active in the computer club and the television studio. He was still a regular at the General Store where he entertained all with his stories and jokes. Anyone who knew Roland will remember his ability to find humor in every aspect of life. He was truly a kind and gentle person who will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. Survivors include a son, Skip and a daughter, Pamela Jeanneret .
At his request there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions can be given to the Brotherhood of John at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Missouri.
