Roland "Rollie" Debrick, age 85, passed into his heavenly father's arms, surrounded by family, on June 18 at his home in Olathe, KS. Rollie was born January 22, 1928 in Block, Kansas to Ed and Minnie Debrick.
He grew up in Block, KS and lived for 60 years in Garnett, KS before relocating to Olathe six months ago. He was a man of many talents and incredible energy. He was a pilot and traveled the world; he went skydiving at age 60, bought a motorcycle at age 80 and he was an avid golfer. Rollie spent his entire career working for Taylor Forge as Plant Manager for the Greeley and Garnett, KS operations, retiring at age 80.
Rollie was a devoted husband and father and will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 40 years, Alvena, and his step-son, Michael Perkins. He was blessed with a second marriage of 17 years to Joyce Perkins. Rollie is survived by his wife Joyce, of the home; his son Ron Debrick, (Jacque), Wichita and daughter Rita Tripp (David), Leawood, as well as step-son Mark Perkins (Wendy), Lexington, KY, and Todd Perkins, Olathe. Rollie is also survived by his brother, Arnold Debrick, Paola, KS, sister, Doris Rodewald, New Lancaster, KS and 17 grandchildren.
