Robert Edward Wagner, born on July 8, 1938, in Fort Scott, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Olathe, Kansas. Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, retiring after over two decades of honorable military service. His commitment to duty and discipline extended beyond his career.
A graduate of Fort Scott High School, class of 1956, Robert was known for his attention to detail, always keeping meticulous vehicles. He had a deep appreciation for automobiles and liked traveling to Gulf Shores to attend various car shows. He also enjoyed attending dinner theater shows with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae of 65 years, and their children, son Rob Wagner (Sheryl) of Olathe, Kansas, and daughter Cyndi Taylor (Brent) of Spring Hill, Kansas. Robert was also a proud grandfather to Jake Paulsen (Rachel) and Nate Wagner, as well as great-grandfather to Lillian and June Paulsen. He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte Blair. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mayrene Wagner.
A graveside service will be held on March 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Fort Scott National Cemetery, located at 900 E National Ave, Fort Scott, KS. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Robert.
