Robert Hennrich Soter, 95, of Overland Park, KS, peacefully went to be with the Lord Jesus on March 7, 2022. Robert (Bob) was born on April 24, 1926, in Washington D.C., to George Francis II and Esther Margaret Soter. He graduated from Sparta High School in Illinois and then enlisted in the Navy when he was 17 years old. He met the love of his life, Ara (Trudy) Henderson, in Washington D.C. and married her in 1948. Bob and Trudy were married for 68 years. After leaving the Navy he attended Oklahoma A & M where he earned a business degree. He started his own business, Soter Drywall Co, in 1962. After he retired in 1985, Bob and Trudy enjoyed traveling for three years. In 1988, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where the family enjoyed many great memories. They moved back to Overland Park in 2014 where he spent his last years.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Trudy in 2016; his two brothers, George Francis Soter III, and Ken Soter; and a grandson, Dylan Cleveland-Soter.
Bob is survived by his three children, Michael Soter (Claudia) of Olathe, KS, Marilyn Crouch (Mike) of Basehor, KS, and Esther Wakefield (Dan) of Overland Park, KS. He also leaves seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 14 from 5-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be on Tuesday, March 15 at 11 a.m. The visitation and funeral will be at Abundant Life Church 12400 Antioch Rd., in Overland Park, KS.
