A private (family only) funeral service for Robert E. Peters, 96, will be held at a later date at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Black Bob Rd., Olathe, KS, proceeding to a burial next to his loving wife, Marjorie (Dorsch) at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS.
Bob was born on May 24, 1925 in Chicago. He moved to Olathe, KS in 2011 where he passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022. He was proud to have enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Aviation Cadet, V-5, from July 1, 1943 to June 30, 1947. Having graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL he went on to a career with several companies, spending 30+ years with AT&T.
Bob was a loving husband and dedicated many years to the care of the late Marjorie. Together they raised 2 children, Greg (Donna) and Debbie (Walter); he was a fond grandfather of 4 and proud great-grandfather of 6.
He is also preceded in death by his sister, Betty.
A beloved uncle, great uncle and friend to many, he was a true inspiration and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
