Robert E. "Bob" Mohr, 70, passed away on June 29, 2006 at Shawnee, KS.
Robert was born on February 23, 1936 in Great Bend, KS, the son of Carl Sidney and Zoe Vivian (Hull) Mohr. He graduated from Great Bend (KS) High School in 1954. After high school he was employed as a printer at the Hutchinson News and Loewen Printing Company. In 1976, he was employed by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in literature evangelism ministry. He served as pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Atlanta, IA District from 1992 to 1997. From 1997 until retirement in March, 2006 he was pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Gallatin, MO District.
On May 15, 1977 he married Norma Jean Field Withrow in Hutchinson, KS where they made their home. She survives along with four sons from a previous marriage, Carl Mohr and his wife Karen, Redondo Beach, CA, Scott Mohr, Lincoln, NE., Kenneth Mohr, Spanaway, WA and Sam Mohr, Omaha, NE., two daughters, Mandy Rebarchek and her husband Roger and Melody Rockufeler and her husband John, both of Shawnee, KS, four brothers, Carl "Buddy" Mohr of Pasadena, TX, James "Jimmy" Mohr of Woodbine, KS, Richard Mohr of Great Bend, KS, and Thomas "Tommy" Mohr, Houston, TX, four sisters, Virginia Sharp of Wichita, KS, Joyce Lofland of Great Bend, KS, Rosilyn Kruckenberg of Great Bend, KS, and Marilyn Kae Bird of Nashville, TN, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joe Mohr, and his brother, Douglas Mohr.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 30 at Chapel Oaks Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6245 Monticello Rd, Shawnee, KS. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory – Olathe Chapel will assist the family in Shawnee. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Monday, July 3, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory – Hutchinson Chapel, where visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
