Robert Walker Mason of Overland Park, KS passed away on Thursday, July 7 as a result of a single car accident.
Rob was born May 3rd, 1968 in St. Charles, MO to Glenda and Joseph Mason. He graduated from Olathe South High School in 1986 and attended Johnson County Community College and Pittsburgh State University. He was a pressman at Vestcom printing in New Century, KS for 24 years. He was an avid fisherman and could be found many days at Hillsdale Lake, though Clearwater, FL was his favorite place in the world. He enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs, and was passionate about the Missouri Tigers' football and basketball teams. He loved watching his son, Blake, play soccer and he helped coach their indoor 4 on 4 team, Lightening, for 3 years. He also had many fun times at JP Devanny Memorial Golf Course playing whiffle golf with his buddies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Nellie and Walk Mason, Fay and Ed Dissinger, and Robert McCray.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Holman Mason of Fall City, WA; his sons, Cory and Blake Mason of Overland Park; his mother and stepfather, Glenda and Donald Kirk of Olathe, KS; his father Joseph Mason of O'Fallon, MO; sisters Allyson Betzold (Steve) of Mission, KS, Brooke Mason of Troy, MO, and Breanna Mason of College Station, Texas, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He loved his family, especially his boys, and was a friend to all he knew. He will be missed by all.
There will be an informal gathering of friends and family at the Olathe Twin Peaks, 14805 W. 119th St. beginning at 5:00 PM, Monday, July 11.
