Robert "Bob" Charles Kuhn, 61, of Lenexa, Kansas made his journey into heaven on the evening of Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Little Bobby Kuhn "LBK" was born January 19, 1959 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Carla, on November 8, 1980. They spent nearly 40 wonderful years together traveling the globe. They were vacation partners who enjoyed trips with family, friends and each other exploring new destinations.
Bob had a servant heart and spent much of his free time helping others. He was a volunteer for CASA of Johnson/Wyandotte County where he served as an advocate for foster children, a member of the Abdullah Shrine and Masonic Lodge #436, and he served Grace United Methodist Church in a variety of capacities.
Growing up in Lincoln made him a lifelong Husker football fan. He could fix just about anything, and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge by teaching others how to as well. Always one to enjoy life, Bob was a kid at heart. He loved to joke around and have a good time. He would do whatever it took to put a smile on someone else's face.
His favorite part of life was retirement. He bought an acreage outside of Ottawa, Kansas and spent several years turning it into a family playground. So many wonderful memories were created out there thanks to his hard work and adventurous spirit.
Bob was blessed with 3 daughters who gave him a run for his money. After living in a house of all girls, he had 4 (soon to be 5) grandsons who were the light of his life. He always looked forward to teaching and playing with all the boys. They love their Grampy!
Bob will be welcomed to heaven by his parents, Bud and Kathleen Kuhn. He is survived by his wife, Carla; daughters and sons-in-law: Casey (Jason) Becker, Chelsea (Jeff) Allen, and Courtney (Dalton) Robertson; grandsons: Will & Zack Becker, Brayden & Benson Robertson, and Baby Allen; brother Ron (Lori) Kuhn; sister Jan (Paul) Liebig; brother-in-law Dave (Jenny) Oberle; sister-in-law Tammy (Greg) Boehmer, and so many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at the church on Thursday, October 1. A recorded video of the service is posted below for those wishing to pay their respects virtually. A remembrance event will take place out at "The Farm" next year to celebrate his wonderful life with everyone.
Memorials can be made to Grace United Methodist Church and CASA of Johnson/Wyandotte County.
