Robert W. Johnson, age 85, passed away June 16, 2011 at his home in Olathe, KS.
Mr. Johnson was born on July 31, 1925 in Dunnell, MN. He was the son of Opal and Albin M. Johnson. He attended high school in Sherburn and Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army in Colorado and on Luzon attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Johnson attended the University of Minnesota and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1950. He was employed by Coca-Cola since 1943 and served as Vice-president of Operations of the Coca-Cola Bottling Companies in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Lenexa. He was a member of the Cooler Committee of the Coca-Cola Bottlers Association and a past President of the Production Advisory Council of the Coca-Cola Company. He retired in 1988. Robert was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed flying. He was a past member of Blue Hills Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Bous Johnson, daughters Michelle Mosher (Mark) of Olathe, Kansas. Pamela Klincher (Mike) of Dexter, Ohio, his grandchildren John Gray, Kelsey and Shannon Mosher, and Taylor Wills. He is also survived by sister Beverly Garcia of Placerville, California, sister Beatty and Dave Muller of Windom, Minnesota, brother in law Lloyd Olson of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty June Johnson, Leone Moe, and Bernice Olson, as well as his grandson Jonathan Scott Johnson.
Memorial Service and internment will be at Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan Minnesota. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Harvesters.
