Robert Thomas Fields, 93, of Olathe, passed away on December 13, 2016. He was born on August 3, 1923 to Robert and Theresia (Lory) Fields in Kansas City, KS.

Robert grew up in Kansas City, KS and attended Wyandotte High School. He was a World War II veteran having served as a Medic in US Army 13th Armored Division, 46th Tank Battalion. His father passed at an early age and he returned home to work at the family florist, Fields Florist, where he made people happy with flowers, until he retired in 1987. He married Emma Lou Ozbolt on January 10, 1948. He boated at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends from the 1950's until 2012. He was a member of the Terrace Club and Monkey Club in the Brotherhood Building, as well as served on the Board of Directors at the Brotherhood State Bank. Most importantly, he loved life and family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Emma; children, Terri Lacey (Dave Preston), Jani Willis (Bill) and Robert Fields (Loree); brother, Richard (Pete) Fields; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hardin Fields, his mother, Theresia Fields, and sister, Catherine (Mickey) Lynch.

The family will receive guests for a visitation on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM.
