Robert Lowell Dyson, 78, of DeSoto, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday November 4, 2015 in Olathe, Kansas.
He was born June 5, 1937 to Albert and Mary (Reardon) Dyson in Leavenworth, Kansas. He grew up in the area, graduating from Immaculate High School.
He met his wife, Laura at the movie theater in Leavenworth. They were married October 17, 1959 and were married 55 years. They settled in DeSoto where they built their family home and raised their three children. Robert served in the Army until 1962 at which time he became employed by AT&T until his retirement. Robert was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church since 1974 and also volunteered at the Johnson County Extension office of the Master Gardeners which was a passionate hobby of his. Robert was a member of the MARAC (Mobile Amateur Radio Awards Club) his whole adult life. He held many positions in the club, including President.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura in April 2015 and is survived by his brother James Dyson, Leavenworth, KS., three children son Richard Dyson of Coralville, IA, and daughters Lynda Riley of Pomona, KS, and Sharon Stimatze of Louisburg, KS., six grandchildren Amber and Ashley Dyson, Michael, Jr. and Matthew Mann, Christina Brock and Robert Boyce, Jr., five great grandchildren Jonathon and Alexis Brock, Makenzie Hutchison, Mason and Madilynn Mann.
