Robert A. Bouler, 58, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at home, surrounded by family.
He was born on August 9, 1963, in Inglewood, California. After living in California for 10 years, he moved to Georgia with his mom, where they lived for 2 years, before settling in Winter Park, Florida. He graduated from Winter Park High School in 1982, and attended the University of Florida for a short time before transferring to Rollins College where he played basketball. He moved to Overland Park in 1987, where he worked as a bartender at Studebakers. He later became DJ "Rocking Rob," where he was well known for packing Studebakers with his outrageous outfits, dance routines, and skits. It is there that he met his wife of 32 years, Linda.
After his DJ days were over, Rob had a successful career in automobile sales/management. Rob was the life of the party. His contagious smile, witty personality, unique idioms, and bear hugs made everyone want to be his friend. He loved all sports, music, history, barbequing, traveling, especially to Belize, his enormous group of friends, but most importantly his family. Rob's childhood was challenging, so he took great pride in the fact that he was able to provide a wonderful life for his family. His greatest goal in life was to be a great husband and father, and he achieved that like no other.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Colleen McDowell, grandmother Aileen Salter and two uncles, Talmedge and Bob Salter.
Rob is survived by his loving wife, Linda Bouler, his son Jesse Bouler (Hannah), and daughter Jamie Winslow (Brad),
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 18th from 1-2 pm at Church of the Ascension, 9510 West 127th Street, Overland Park, KS, 66213 with a memorial service at 2 pm. There will be a reception to follow in the church basement.
Rob had a great love and respect for history and those who fought for their country so the family requests that contributions be made in Rob's memory to Tunnels to Towers.
