Robert "Bob" G. Williams, 83, passed away on October 2, 2021, at Olathe Medical Center.
On February 8, 1938, he was the only child born to Clarence and Ann (Mistele) Williams in Kansas City, MO.
Bob served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed over 38 years as a Computer System Administrator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, before retiring May 3, 1997. He was a proud member of the Earl Collier American Legion Post #153 (Olathe, KS), serving in many capacities (officers, boards, committees) and took pride in his involvement in the American Legion Baseball for 35 years. He really enjoyed Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, KU Basketball, golfing, motorcycle riding, and pizza!
He was previously married to Shirley Larsen, with whom he had three sons. He later married Darlene Rebel.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his three sons, Todd Williams (Lea Anne), Brad Williams, and Brian Williams; step-children Jay Rebel (Denise), Penny Myers (Craig), and Troy Rebel.
His grandchildren are: Kelli Douglas and Lauren Williams (Todd); Corey, Rachel, and Amber Williams (Brad); and step-grandchildren: Beau and D.J. Rebel (Jay); Dustin, Brady, Nathan Myers (Penny); and Adria, Macie, Tyler, and Kinsley (Troy).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sons' mother, Shirley (Larsen) Williams.
Committal services given by the Earl Collier American Legion Post #153 will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. in the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth,KS.
The family will privately be honoring Bob's life by celebrating with pizza and beer.
