Robert A. Hanson

Robert "Vegas" A. Hanson, 75, of Olathe, KS passed away September 24, 2009. The son of Edwin and Hazel Hanson, he was born on April 1, 1934 in Kansas City, KS. Robert retired in 1988 as Trainmaster, after 36 years of service with the Union Pacific Railroad. He then began a second career as a Marshall at Heritage Park Golf Course where he leaves behind a host of friends who love golf just as he did.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his sister Margaret Ann. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Darlene, and three sons: Bob, (Beth), Jeff, (Earlene) and Jon, (Missy). He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren as well as one great-grandson, in addition to siblings Edwin Hanson, Wilma Neblock and Gretchen Richart.
Memorial services are Tuesday, September 29, at 11:00 A. M. at the Life Church 16111 Lone Elm Road Olathe, KS. Visitaion will begin at 10:00 A.M. at the church where he attended. The family suggests donations to the American Stroke Association 6800 W. 93rd Street Overland Park, KS 66212
