Rita Jean Cooper, 94, of Overland Park, passed away on August 31, 2022, at Advent Health South.
She was born on October 14, 1927, to Hobson and Georgia (Sanders) Hansford in Cleveland, Ohio.
On June 24,1950, she married Edward Cooper, and they made their home in Houston, TX and Overland Park, KS.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed dancing, puzzles and reading books.
She is survived by her children Pat Fryberger of Overland Park, KS, Ben (Jody) Cooper of Houston, TX and Tom (Marge) Boxley of Scottsdale, AZ, grand-children Leah, Katy, Robin, Julie, Keith & Chett, great-grandchildren Cooper, Tatum, Lanie, Bryce, Brandy. Sister Carol Merkle of Cleveland, OH. Her good friend and dancing partner George Moser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 2006.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on Saturday, October 22 starting at 12:00pm and going throughout the day. Everyone is welcome.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
