Richard Roberts

Richard L. Roberts, 73, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday May 26th at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, KS. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Olathe, KS. Friends may call from 10-11:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Heart to Heart Int.



Richard was born December 25, 1935 in Emporia, KS to William J. and Irene V. Roberts. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1957, and Washburn Law School in 1960. He was a lawyer and an oil man, having practiced law in Olathe for 40 years, and developed an oil field in Gardner, KS.



He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a daughter Janet Louise Roberts in 1981.



He is survived by his wife of 52 years Lelia Roberts of the home, one daughter Judith LaRane Musgrave of Colleyville, TX, two sons Richard Owen Roberts of London, England and William Lewis Roberts of Minneapolis, MN, and 8 Grandchildren.
