Richard Pretz
RICHARD ALLEN PRETZ, passed away February 19, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Richard was born on March 29, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas to Otto and Beatrice Pretz. His family moved to the Olathe area in 1941 where he graduated from Olathe High School in 1955. After receiving his Engineering Degree from Finley Engineering College, he began a lifelong career in electrical engineering, retiring from Black and Veatch after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley, his children Pamela Pretz, Tulsa, OK, Jeffrey Pretz and wife Anneliese, Andover, KS, and two grandchildren Garrett and Ashlyn Pretz. He is also survived by a brother Charles Pretz, Olathe, KS, and two sisters; Mary Hardy, Overland Park, KS and Betty Cappello, Tempe, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Pretz.
Memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House or the charity of your choice.
