On Tuesday December 15, 2020, Richard Leslie Gillett, loving husband, and father of three passed away at the age of 70.
Richard was born on September 12, 1950 in Garden City, Kansas to Edwin and Mary (Brower) Gillett. Richard worked as a mechanic for Sharp Brothers Seed Company for 36 years and worked for Owen Herndon for 10 years. On October 14th, 1972 he married Rebecca (Inguanza) Gillett. Richard and Rebecca lived in Healy, Kansas for 30 years.
Richard had a passion for fishing and could be found catching trout and catfish at Scott Lake State Park. He also loved riding his motorcycle, winding down the scenic roads of Kansas, listening to Elvis. Richard also enjoyed traveling with his wife, they made many trips around the United States. The highlights include Yuma, Arizona, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Keystone, South Dakota to visit Mount Rushmore. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janie Simpson and his brothers Roger and Robert Gillett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky; his daughters, Leslie Cheri Gillett (Mark), Tracy Rene Gillett, and son Ramon Ramie Inguanza (Amanda). His brother, James Gillett(Shari) and five grandchildren, Blake Gillett, Chris Hemel, Skyler Hemel, Makayla Inguanza and Kadence Inguanza.
