Richard Dean Lorius

Richard Dean Lorius, 90, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012. The family suggests contributions to the Honor Flight of Northwest Arkansas, 10475 Tyson Place, Bentonville, Arkansas 72712.

Dick was born April 29, 1921 to Fred and Alice Lorius in Blythedale, Missouri, living in Olathe most of his life before moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas the past 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII stationed in Olathe where he met the love of his life June (who preceded him in death in 2010) and they were married in 1943. After the war ended he worked as an accountant having his own accounting office in Olathe for many years.

He was a member of the Olathe Noon Rotary and very actively involved in First Presbyterian Church in Olathe and Community Church of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

He is survived by his three daughters; Karen (David-deceased) Falls, Donna (Gail) Johnson, and Marsha (Ron) Penner, 6 grandchildren; Todd, Christopher, Stephen, Kellie, Bryan and Jeffrey, 5 great grandchildren.
