Rhonda (Hoffhines) Hensley Blair

May 31, 1972 — March 11, 2024

Rhonda Elaine (Hoffhines) Hensley Blair passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a 10-year battle with brain cancer.

Rhonda was born on May 31, 1972, in Independence, Kansas, to Ross and Melva (Smith) Hoffhines. From a young age, Rhonda was an outgoing girl who loved to help others. As a youth, she played soccer, softball, and swam on the YMCA swim team. Rhonda attended school in Salina, KS, graduating from Salina South High School in 1990. While in school she ran track while also finding time to be the school mascot. During her high school days, Rhonda got started in the healthcare system as a CNA in the hospital.

After graduation, she attended Hutchinson Community College for a year before moving on to Kansas Wesleyan, where she graduated with a degree in nursing. After graduation, Rhonda worked at Salina Regional Hospital and continued in various nursing roles at numerous hospitals and clinics throughout her working life. All who worked with her loved Rhonda, as she was a true caretaker, not just in nursing but in her love, and compassion for others as well as her desire to help those in need in any way possible.

Rhonda married Denny Hensley on February 12, 1994. They had four wonderful children: Zak, Tyler, Gunner, and Elainey. Her children were her whole world. From following Zak around the country, watching him wrestle for 20+ years, driving across the state to see Tyler play baseball, sitting in countless gyms watching Gunner give people buckets on the basketball court, to watching Elainey on the dance team, and helping her become a wonderful mother, Rhonda was always there for her kids…and always will be.

Rhonda married Dustin Blair on January 31, 2014. In the marriage, Rhonda gained stepchildren Daniel, Lawren, Cruz, and step-grandchildren Kage, Kymora, and Charlie.

A huge accomplishment Rhonda had was starting the youth wrestling program in Frontenac, KS, which continues today. Rhonda always wanted to help others, was a fun person to be around, and loved God.

Rhonda is survived by her parents, Ross and Melva; her sister, Sona; her children Zak (Sydney), Tyler, Gunner, and Elainey (Marvin); and her grandchildren Kingston, Sterling, and Roman; a large family and many friends. Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harley and Maxine Smith, and Raymond and Edna Hoffhines.

Services were held on Saturday, March 16, at 10 am, at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection (13720 Roe Ave) in Leawood, KS. Burial in Delphos Cemetery in Delphos, KS.
