Rheta Carol Rundberg

On October 16, 2018, Rheta Carol Rundberg went home to be with her Lord, at the age of 84.

She was born on June 8, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Merle and Jessie Wiese. Rheta attended high school in Grimes, Iowa, where she played basketball. During high school, she survived polio and being run over by a hay wagon.

At that time, Rheta was told she would never have children. Rheta met her future husband, Charles ("Chuck") Rundberg when working on a school float project while attending Olivet Nazarene College. Rheta and Chuck were married on her birthday on June 8, 1956, in Bourbonnais, Illinois. During their marriage, Rheta worked at Nazarene Headquarters and the Church of the Nazarene Kansas City District Office.

Rheta was a devoted wife and mother. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. She was a long-time member and volunteer at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. Rheta is survived by her husband, Chuck Rundberg; children, Ron Rundberg (Anne) of Olathe, Kansas; Bob Rundberg (Laurie) of Olathe, Kansas; Rhonda Birchard (Kevin) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

The family is grateful for the many prayers and condolences received and the loving care provided by the staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
