Rhea Mae Kemp, 88, of Overland Park, passed away on August 19, 2021 at Stratford Commons.
She was born on March 30, 1933 to Paul and Carrie (Rhea) Sesler at Battle Creek, NE where she grew up on a farm 2 miles south and 2 miles west of town.She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1950.
On April 27, 1957, she married Robert J. Kemp, and they made their home in Omaha, Nebraska, where they raised their family.
She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Omaha for more than 50 years, and she enjoyed spending time with family, chatting with friends over coffee, working in the yard, sewing, and listening to music.
Rhea is survived by her son, Robert "Steve" Kemp ( Julie L. Powers), her daughter, Keri M. Kemp, grandchildren Kristin C. Kemp, Abigail L. Lueders (Abram) , Tristan J. Powers, and great-grandchildren Zachary G. Kemp, Robert Logan Kemp, Shaylen M. Moore, Sophia L. Lueders, and Frederick J. Lueders, and best friend Ann Workman.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Private services will be held.
