REX RONALD GREEN
Rex Green went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24 at Olathe Bible Church, 13700 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Interment will be at the Spring Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the Olathe Bible Church, and all are invited to attend.
Rex was born May 23, 1928 in Trenton, MO. He lived in the Kansas City area most of his life and attended Shawnee Mission High School. Rex proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific, Guam, and Saipan. He retired after 35 years of service from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Rex loved to fish, hunt, rideh horses, and spend time with his family. He was a long-time member of Merriam Bible Church, and Olathe Bible Church, and was a long-time resident of the Spring Hill area.
Rex is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jospehine, daughters and son-in-laws Rexanne and Darrel Stiles, and Joy and Vito Giarraputo, grandchildren; Erin and Mike Birge, Emily Stiles, Luke and Jenilee Cunningham, and Lacey Cunningham, step-grandchildren; Michael and Matthew Giarraputo, great-grandsons, Alex and Dylan Birge, and his brother Philip Green of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Denny and Peggy Green, and brother Allen Green.
The family wished to thank the Johnson County Nursing Home for their great care and compassion. Memorails contributions may be given to the Johnson County Nursing Home or to the Alzheimers Association.
Rex will be greatly missed by the many family and friends that were blessed to share his life for 79 years.
