Rev. Earl Curtis Whited, son of Thomas and Ruthie Mae (Maxwell) Whited was born January 16, 1915 in Washington City, Missouri. He left this world to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday morning, April 12, 2009.
Curtis served 2 terms in the C.C.C. in Missouri and Idaho.
He married Edna Bonsall on March 5, 1941. They lived in Washington where he worked in the ship yards. When he was called up for induction for service they moved to Idaho so Edna could have help with the 2 babies.
While living there he totally committed his life to the Lord and accepted the call to preach. He pastored churches in Idaho, Missouri and Kansas, receiving his ordination in 1963. He went into the field of evangelism in 1968 and moved to Olathe, Kansas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, his son Russell S. Whited and an infant daughter.
He is survived by his wife Edna of the home, 1son, Curtis Edward (Peggy) Whited of Texarkana, Arkansas, 1 daughter, Ethel (Terry) Brewer, Olathe, KS, 4 grandchildren, Ricky and Garon Whited, Amy Coleman and Stephanie (Michael) Jones and 3 Great-grandchildren, Taylor Coleman, Hannah and Denny Jones and a host of friends and extended family.
The family suggests contributions to College Church of the Nazarene and/or Good Samaritan Towers in Olathe.
