Reuben "Rev. R.V." Schultz, 98, of Olathe, KS passed away April 9, 2018.
R.V. was born October 15, 1919 in Ackley, IA to Rueben "Rube" and Ann Schultz. He graduated from Ackley High School in 1938 and was inducted into the Army on November 14, 1941. R.V. served in the South Pacific during World War II and was honorably discharged on October 14, 1945. In February, 1942 R.V. was miraculously saved from a life of sin and became a disciple of the Risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
After completing his service during the war, R.V. enrolled in Pasadena College to prepare for Christian ministry. He completed a degree in theology from Olivet Nazarene University in 1950. His pastoral ministry in the Church of the Nazarene spanned 40 years including churches in Illinois, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana and California.
R.V. was married to Ann (Huesman) Schultz for 57 years. Ann passed away in 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife Pat and his children, Jim (Patti) Schultz, Eileen (Chuck) Bridwell, Barbara (Sid) Shipman and Lonnie (Patti) Schultz, 8 grandchildren 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Pat's children are Mark Smith, Gaylen (Janet) Smith, Wayne (Lori) Smith and Houston Smith, 6 grand children and 1 great grandson.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ was the heartbeat of R.V.'s life. He never took for granted the miracle of his conversion to travel through life as a follower of the resurrected Christ. His personal mission was to bring as many people with him to follow after Jesus and to join him in Heaven.
