Rebecca "Becky" Louise MacLearn, 75, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. She was born on April 28, 1947 in Dawson, Minnesota to Raymond and Bessie (Howland) Hull.
Becky grew up in Dawson and graduated high school in 1965. She went on to attend college at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois where she graduated in 1970. On September 18, 1982, she married Robert "Bob" MacLearn in Kankakee, Illinois. Becky worked in healthcare for many years as a medical records (health informatics) clerk both in Kankakee and Clinton. She also worked as a library clerk at Clinton Community College.
Becky and Bob attended Sterling Church of the Nazarene in Sterling, Illinois and were Sunday school teachers for the 2 and 3 year olds for 33 years. Becky had taught as a single woman for 20 years, before marrying Bob. They enjoyed traveling around the United States to see family and friends. Becky was an avid reader, particularly enjoying Christian fiction.
Becky is survived by her brothers and sister, Ray Hull of Olathe, KS, Wally (Caroline) Hull of Plymouth, MN, Dr. Bob (Marsha) Hull of Olathe, KS, Nell Hull of Olathe, KS, and Harlan (Charla) Hull of Brooklyn Park, MN; step-daughter, Cindy (Mike) Amirault; nieces and nephews, Evan Hull, Mike (Kristen) Hull, Brett (Kelly) Hull, Claricesa (Levi) Brink, and Hannah Hull; as well as 4 great nieces and nephews, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Bob MacLearn; her parents, Ray and Bessie Hull; and her parents-in-law, George and Gladys MacLearn.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Black Bob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062. The memorial service will be at 2:00pm followed by a reception.
Becky's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
