RAYMOND EDWARD JOHNSON,

Age 72, passed away December 10, 2010 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 14 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe, followed by funeral services on Wednesday, December 15 at 10:00 am, also in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, or flower tributes through Jennifer's Flowers and Events, 913-498-1833.

Ray was born September 20, 1938 in Elsmore, KS to LeRoy and Ruby Johnson. He was married to Patricia Franklin on October 20, 1956 and together they raised their family in the Olathe area. Ray was employed with Simmons Guns for twenty years, then went on to retire from a career as a driver for Clarkson Construction Company after 25 years. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid sports fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his daughters; Rhonda (Jeffrey) Redenbaugh and Peggy (Winston) Antwine, grandchildren Jennifer Redenbaugh and Ashley (James) Funk, and two great-grandchildren KayLynn and Reidun Funk. He is also survived by his sisters Joan Wolfe, Donna Franklin, and Amy Breiner, and his brothers Bob Johnson and Allen Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2007, and his brothers Charles and Raymond, and his sister Phyllis.
