Raymond Robert Hessling Sr.

Raymond Robert Hessling, Sr "Ray", of Overland Park, KS passed away on January 5th. He was born to Raymond and Violet Hessling, August 3rd, 1929. He graduated from South East High school in Kansas City, then spent two years in the US Marine Corp as a sergeant and later as 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from University of Kansas, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. It was there where he met his bride of 58 years, Carole Galloway Hessling, who precedes him in death.

Survivors include sons Rob (Patti) Hessling of Overland Park, Rick Hessling of Overland Park, daughters Sandy (Chris) Parrish of Olathe, Lee (Patrick) Feeney of Overland Park, granddaughters Ashlee (Jason) Miller, Cindy (Albert) Everling, Shannon (Ben) Richards, Laura Hessling (Scott Mathison), grandson Ryan Feeney three great-grandchildren (Felicity and Grant Miller, Emmett "baby Ray" Mathison), and sisters Kathryn Belling of Texas, Pat Daugherty of Lakin, Kansas.

Ray retired from Baxter and Sherwood Medical. He was a loving father who enjoyed walking, hunting and fishing. Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
