Ramon was born March 12, 1930 in Oberlin Kansas to Ora and Dora (Reist) Eller. His parents left Western Kansas in the early 40's and relocated in Junction City, Kansas where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1948 and continued his education graduating with a business degree from Kansas State University in 1952. He married Betty Moreland on September 20, 1953 at the First Christian Church and together they raised 3 sons. He was a loving and devoted father. His family was always at the top of his list. He faced many obstacles in his life. His battle with polio was life changing but did not define his enthusiasm for life. Ramon worked as a comptroller for Drs. Carr and Smiley and later at Irwin Army Hospital. Upon his Civil Service retirement, he served in an administrative role at Geary Community Hospital as well as serving on their Board of Directors. He served as church elder and treasurer for First Christian Church. He was a Boy Scout leader and President of Junction City youth baseball. He was an avid supporter of all Junction City High School athletics. He loved traveling with Betty to visit their children and grandchildren. His favorite hobbies include hunting, fishing, wood working and working on old cars. Ramon passed away on August 29,2019. He will be missed as much as he was loved. He is survived by son David, daughter-in-law Jennifer, grandson Jerod & Julianna Eller; son Daniel, daughter-in-law Teresa, grandson Abe & Sarah Eller, granddaughter Sarah & Tim Kennedy, grandson David & Heather Payne, granddaughter Holly & Carlos Lainez, grandson Nick & Jamie Payne; son Timothy, daughter-in-law Alice Eller. Also 20 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Eller, parents Ora & Dora Eller, brother Dwane and sister-in-law Lois Eller; grandson Kyle Gabriel Eller. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 21, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 1429 St. Mary's Rd., Junction City, KS 66441, with a graveside service to follow at Highland Cemetery, 703 W. Ash Junction City, KS 66441.
