Quinn Burleson

July 12, 1958 — June 29, 2023

Quinn Burleson, 64, of Olathe, KS passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 29th, 2023. His loss was unexpected and the family is deeply saddened by his passing.

Quinn was born on July 12th, 1958 to Sonyo Pak and George Burleson in Incheon, South Korea. He moved to the United States at age 2 and spent the majority of his younger years in Junction City, KS. He gained popularity among his classmates performing in the school band and being a photographer for the school's newspaper and yearbook. He also enjoyed martial arts and earned his black belt in karate. After graduating from Junction City High School in 1976, Quinn worked various jobs, including many years as a bartender and bouncer.

In 1991, Quinn met Barbara Bowman while bartending at the Alibi. They quickly married in June of 1992 and he became stepfather to Barbara's son, Nicholas Bowman. Together they welcomed their 2 daughters: Danielle in December of 1992 and Lindsey in April of 1996. The couple later decided to go their separate ways in 1999 but remained amicable friends and co-parents.

Quinn earned his MBA from Baker University in 2003 and his MISM from Keller Graduate School in 2006. Quinn gained expertise and respect throughout his career in I.T. and was proud of his recent promotion to System Engineer at Netsmart Technologies.

His daughters, Danielle and Lindsey, went on to pursue careers in exercise science and pharmacy, respectively. Danielle married Zach Hallstrom in 2021 and now lives in Louisiana. Lindsey and her boyfriend, Justin Wilde, welcomed their daughter, Sofia, in 2021. Quinn was affectionately known to Sofia as "Papa."

Quinn was a loving, supportive, and dedicated father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. He was a rock for his family and offered strength and wisdom during difficult times. A large, outgoing presence everywhere he went, Quinn was the life of the party and never knew a stranger. Quinn lived life to the fullest, even after suffering a stroke in 2016. He enjoyed many hobbies, including, chess, photography, cooking, and was a gun-enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his father George Burleson.

Quinn leaves behind his two daughters, Danielle Hallstrom and Lindsey Burleson, and granddaughter Sofia Wilde. He is also survived by his mother Sonyo Bevley; his siblings, Sonyo Graham and Leigh Burleson; his nephews, Marvin Madkins, Sterling Graham, and Braden Burleson, and their children; his nieces, Sierra Graham and Schylar Burleson; his son-in-laws, Zach Hallstrom and Justin Wilde; his ex-wife Barbara Burleson and her extended family; and many dear friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
